Patrick, 2 things you forgot to mention; 1)The out of this world "Wine Pot"which is not really an alcoholic thingie but makes the steamboat ever so yummy. 2) If anyone decides to go on weekends, they better make reservation or else......

Thank you, Kelly. You're the very first one to leave a comment on the blog. I was beginning to feel very lonely. LOL. Well, now that you have mentioned the 2 things I don't have to add it to the post. Thank you.

Uncle Pat,

Apart from the seafood, can I safely assume that the other stuffs (paper wrapped chicken) are halal as well? If they're not, then no problem lah later when I drop-by I order the seafood only meh. I'm crazy about steamboat, hoho.

The seafood looks positively gorgeous! I'm trying not to drool on my laptop while typing away on a typical windy London night.

Hi nurul. Well, the deal is like this. Damansara Village is pork-free but it is NOT halal. This means that we are not certified by the department that hands out HALAL certificates and we cannot guarantee that our chickens are slaughtered the HALAL way. But there is NO pork.

Being in England I guess you do have many moments of missing Malaysian food eh? Come back soon.

Question: Do u add any non-halal ingredients in the steamboat, eg. wine, lard. Cos i know that chef normally add wine to their cooking.

I am thinking of coming here, but need to be sure.

Any plan to get halal cert?

Hi Ahli M.T.We do not add wine or any alcohol in our cooking except when guests request for the Herbal Pot which contains Chinese wine. This is an additive which is made separately.

I'm sorry but we have no plans to get Halal certification.

Hi Bezc, although we do have customers who bring their fur kids we do not encourage it because other customers might be sensitive to them. However, if you visit us on weeknights it should be fine as we can seat you and your fur kids in a more quiet part of the restaurant.

Hi Pat, my friend and I went to the Damansara Seafood Village for the 3rd time on yesterday night. The fresh seafood is still tasty and we are happy as usual. Definitely it is a good place for dinner with friends. Nice. Check it out the blog post on Damansara Seafood Village - http://www.ah-hong.com/food/damansara-seafood-village-restaurant/

Hi, Uncle Patrick,

My Company coming soon haven a company dinner @ your restaurant. I am a Vegetarian. Did your restaurant provide any Vegetarian Soup and Vegetarian Food? Can I bring some Vegetarian Food for my dish?

patrickteoh said...

Hi Justin. I am afraid that there is very little at Damansara Village Restaurants that is vegetarian except for the vegetables that you can put in the soup. But since the soup is not vegetarian you cannot eat that too, right? But, yes you are welcome to bring some vegetarian food for your own consumption.
Let me know if you need any oassistance. Which Damansara Village will you be visiting, Justin?
