Thank you so very very much

Last night's Myanmar and China fund raiser at Damansara Village Steamboat Restaurant was an unqualified success. Thanks to the generousity and caring of Malaysians. More than 200 people turned up in answer to the call by the restaurant to raise funds for the victims of the Myanmar cyclone and the earthquake in China. Most came to enjoy the fresh seafood steamboat and do their bit for a good cause. But some just came to donate to the fund and wish the organisers well.

Celebrity comedian Harith Iskander and friend, Maria

A big thank you must go to my old friend and fellow-blogger, Bernard Khoo "Zorro Unmasked" (second from left) who helped to publicise the event by posting it on his popular blog. And to Tony Yew-tube for being there and helping with the photos and video. Watch out for the video on Tony's blog. Since I figured out how to do it I've brought the video here for you. Enjoy.

Actor, director, comedian and good friend, Afdlin Shauki and wife, Christina.

Writer, director Na Murad and friend, June

Jim Yap (second from right) and members of the SMART cars gang.

At the end of the night a total collection of RM24,632.17 was realised. Damansara Village will donate the entire amount without deductions for costs and expenses. The amount will be divided equally for the funds for Myanmar and China and will be managed by Sin Chew Jit Poh and Nanyang Siang Pao.

To all of you, thank you for your support. From the bottom of my heart.......Patrick Teoh

After the event night a couple of anonymous donors came in to do their share.

The final tally from the fund-raiser..............RM24,926.00
