Last night's Myanmar and China fund raiser at Damansara Village Steamboat Restaurant was an unqualified success. Thanks to the generousity and caring of Malaysians. More than 200 people turned up in answer to the call by the restaurant to raise funds for the victims of the Myanmar cyclone and the earthquake in China. Most came to enjoy the fresh seafood steamboat and do their bit for a good cause. But some just came to donate to the fund and wish the organisers well.

At the end of the night a total collection of RM24,632.17 was realised. Damansara Village will donate the entire amount without deductions for costs and expenses. The amount will be divided equally for the funds for Myanmar and China and will be managed by Sin Chew Jit Poh and Nanyang Siang Pao.
